How this page is written

Search for the best security guard management software and much of what you find is written by the vendors themselves, each with its own product first. This page is written by a vendor too: GuardChek. So every fact about another product comes with its source and the date we checked it, here or on our full comparison page for that product, and we say plainly where another product fits better. We do not invent ratings or prices; if a vendor does not publish something, we say so.

Novagems, GuardMetrics and QR-Patrol

Novagems sells security guard management software to companies with about 10 to more than 1,500 guards: scheduling, geofenced clock-in, NFC or QR checkpoint tours, timesheets exported to payroll, dispatch and a client self-service portal (Novagems). Its pricing page publishes no figures: it bills per active user, month to month, with no setup fees and a 14-day trial (checked October 2026).

GuardMetrics (GuardMetrics LLC) offers guard tour software with RFID, NFC and QR code checkpoint scanning that works offline and uploads when the connection returns (GuardMetrics guard tours). Its homepage also lists time and attendance, daily activity logs, incident reporting, visitor management and GPS officer tracking, and its officer app is called OfficerMetrics (App Store). Prices come by quote; we found no published figures (checked October 2026).

QR-Patrol, from Terracom in Greece, is a guard tour and patrol app. Checkpoints can be QR codes, NFC tags or beacons on every plan (price list), and every plan includes GPS monitoring, an in-app SOS button and schedule management. It publishes its prices: from $3.20 (Base), $6.15 (Pro) and $11.10 (Gold) per guard per month, with time and attendance on Gold only and a quote above 100 guards (checked October 2026). Its price list does not include invoicing, payroll or a client portal. If patrol proof is all you need, a patrol app like this can cost less than a full platform.

Guard1, Detex, JWM, GS3000 and Deggy: wand-based guard tour systems

Before phones, a guard tour meant a reader held to a button or tag at each checkpoint, then docked at the office to download the round. Some of these systems are still sold, and a docked reader works without a phone or a signal. The trade-off is timing: with a docked reader, the office sees a missed checkpoint only after the round is downloaded, while a phone-based tour can raise the alarm during the shift.

GuardChek needs no wand. Guards scan NFC tags with their own phone, and a missed checkpoint raises an alarm while the shift is still running. Tours come with Growth and up.

Where GuardChek fits

GuardChek is for owner-operated guard companies, from about 15 guards to a few hundred, that want the whole operation in one system at a published price. Scheduling, GPS clock-in, incident reports, SOS and payroll reports come with every plan; NFC guard tours, dispatch, invoicing and the client portal come with Growth and up. If you run thousands of guards across several countries, or only need patrol proof, one of the products above may fit you better, and the comparison pages say where.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best security guard management software?

It depends on your size and what you need. Enterprise platforms such as TrackTik are built for very large and multi-country operations. Guard management platforms such as Novagems and GuardMetrics combine time, tours and reports, patrol apps such as QR-Patrol focus on tours, and general workforce apps such as Connecteam cover scheduling, time and forms. GuardChek is built for owner-operated guard companies of about 15 to a few hundred guards that want the whole operation in one system at a published price.

Who wrote this comparison?

The GuardChek team. We are one of the vendors compared, so every fact about another product comes with its source and the date we checked it, and we say where other products fit better.

Which of these products publish their prices?

Connecteam, GuardsPro, QR-Patrol, Guard1 (store prices for its systems) and GuardChek publish prices. TrackTik, Belfry and Novagems do not, Deggy shows prices only after login, we found none for GuardMetrics or JWM, and Silvertrac's rate is listed on Capterra (checked October 2026; Belfry July 2026).

Do I still need a guard tour wand?

GuardChek needs no wand: guards scan NFC tags with their own phone (tours come with Growth and up). Wand systems such as Guard1 are still sold and work without a phone, but the round reaches the office when the reader is docked.

How much does GuardChek cost?

$449 a month for up to 25 guards, $649 for up to 50 and $899 for up to 100, with custom pricing above that and 2 months free when you pay yearly. See pricing.
