GuardChek / Compare / Silvertrac alternative
Silvertrac is respected for guard tours and incident reporting. But if you are searching for an alternative, you have probably hit the same wall most growing companies hit: everything else your back office needs is not there.
Facts checked July 2026, with sources including Silvertrac's own help center.
Credit where due: Silvertrac has been a solid tours-and-reporting tool for years, and its users like it. It covers guard tours with checkpoints, real-time incident reporting, GPS tracking, dispatch queues, post orders and pass-down notes, and it holds a strong 4.7 rating from 279 reviews on Capterra (checked July 2026). If patrol accountability is your only problem, it is a reasonable tool.
The catch is that patrol accountability is almost never a security company's only problem.
Run a guard company and three back-office jobs eat your week: scheduling, payroll and invoicing. Here is what the public record shows for Silvertrac, checked July 2026:
Scheduling: no shift-scheduling module is documented. Silvertrac's help center describes a time clock (clock in, clock out, review timecards), and a time clock is not a scheduler. No drag-and-drop calendar, recurring shift patterns or open-shift broadcasts appear anywhere in Silvertrac's public site or help center as of July 2026.
Payroll: Connecteam's hands-on review puts it plainly: Silvertrac has no direct payroll integrations, so you export time data to CSV and import it into your payroll system manually. Every pay period, by hand.
Invoicing: no invoicing feature appears anywhere in Silvertrac's product pages or help center. Billing your clients happens in some other tool.
So the real Silvertrac stack is Silvertrac plus a scheduling app plus a payroll process plus an invoicing tool, and you are the integration between them.
Silvertrac is reported at $249 per month for up to 10 devices (per Capterra and GetApp, checked July 2026; Silvertrac's own pricing page describes per-device, month-to-month pricing but publishes no rates). Per-device pricing reads friendly at 10 guards and grows from there as your roster grows, and it buys tours and reporting only, with the rest of the back office still unpaid for.
Compare the published GuardChek card: $449 per month covers up to 25 guards with scheduling, geofenced GPS clock-in, incident reports, SOS and payroll included. Growth at $649 (up to 50 guards) and Professional at $899 (up to 100) carry the full operations platform: guard tours, dispatch, guard alarms, invoicing, client portal, HR suite and the banned-subject database. Yearly billing gets 2 months free.

Silvertrac facts from its product pages, help center and third-party listings, checked July 2026. "Not in public materials" and "no module documented" reflect what is published as of that date. GuardChek tours, invoicing, client portal and the subject database are included on Growth and Professional; Starter covers scheduling, GPS clock-in, incident reports, SOS, payroll and the guard app.
Worth knowing when you evaluate the roadmap: Silvertrac was acquired by Trackforce Valiant in January 2020, and the same company acquired TrackTik in 2022. Today one vendor, Trackforce, operates TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac side by side. Some long-time Silvertrac reviewers on Capterra note support was more responsive in the early years, though to be fair its aggregate service score there remains high. Where product investment flows between three overlapping platforms is a fair question to ask their sales team.
GuardChek has one product, and the founder's own security company runs on it every day. Our roadmap is whatever makes running a guard company less painful, because we feel the pain first.
If you love your tour setup, you will feel at home: NFC checkpoints, routes, tour reports and automatic missed-scan sweeps are all in GuardChek. The difference is what surrounds them. The same verified hours that prove a patrol happened flow straight into payroll. The same shift data drives your invoices. Your dispatcher, your scheduler and your bookkeeper stop living in three different tools.
Bring a week of your real scheduling and billing workflow to the demo. We will show you it running in one place.
